Grants Writer

The Grants Writer will play a key role in growing sustainable income for Eastern Palliative Care by identifying, developing and submitting high-quality grant applications to trusts, foundations, government programs, community groups and corporate giving programs. This role will translate organisational priorities into compelling funding proposals that clearly demonstrate need, impact and alignment with funder priorities.

Essential Education Qualifications/Competencies:

• Demonstrated experience writing successful grant applications, funding proposals or persuasive written submissions.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex services and community need in a clear, compelling way.
• Strong research, planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff across different areas to gather accurate information and shape strong proposals.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in written content, budgets, reporting and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of fundraising, philanthropy, grants or not-for-profit income generation.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and maintaining grant tracking records or databases.
• Commitment to EPC’s values and to supporting people living with life-limiting illness, their families and carers.
• Current Victorian driver’s licence, good driving record and willingness to use own vehicle in line with EPC Process Map 1761 – Motor Vehicle Use Of.

Desirable Qualifications/Competencies:

1. Experience working in the health, community services, aged care, disability, palliative care or not-for-profit sector.
2. Experience preparing grant acquittals, impact reports or funder updates.
3. Ability to interpret budgets, service data and outcomes measures for funding applications.
4. Experience using donor databases, CRM systems or grant management tools.
5. Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in Victoria or Australia.
6. Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, fundraising, business, health, community services or a related field is desirable but not essential.

2. Ensure all incidents including near misses are reported as soon as practicable in Helpmaster.  
3. Actively participate in meetings to discuss risk management and other health and safety initiatives and completes all mandatory training and competencies. 
4. Engage and foster evidence based best practice and continuous quality improvement processes, including but not limited to value based healthcare.
