Embracing video-telehealth

As part of EPC's strategic plan to embrace Value Based Health Care, we have introduced video-telehealth as a regular service for clients who are stable. This initiative reduces the number of clinicians in clients' home and allows us to care for more clients.

Compare the pair - Two carer stories

Karen and Robyn are two Victorian women that provided palliative care for a beloved family member at home. Due to where they lived, Robyn was eligible for EPC’s services and Karen was not. Being supported by EPC makes a significant difference to the carer’s experience and often results in EPC clients being able to stay at home. They have kindly and courageously agreed to share their stories and we thank them.

EPC's new initiative with Palliative Care Victoria

As part of a new initiative, Eastern Palliative Care (EPC) partnered with Palliative Care Victoria (PCV) to offer a free scholarship for a “Train the Trainer – Biography Gold Level" which was awarded to Volunteer Coordinator, Alison Woolley of Anam Cara Colac.

Our wonderful EPC volunteers Sandeep and Saurabh with Manu, EPC Volunteer Team Services Team Leader, are chatting in Hindi on SBS radio about palliative care and the positive difference volunteers make to people living with a life limiting illness. They hope to encourage Indian Australians to get involved in palliative care and make a meaningful impact. 

EPC New Year Celebration

A wonderful New Year Celebration was held at our Mitcham office recently. Over 100 staff and volunteers enjoyed getting together in a relaxed environment to celebrate the New Year as well as EPC's 25 year anniversary.

Generous Donation from Freemasons Lodge of Quest, Ringwood

EPC were honoured to recently receive a donation from the Lodge of Quest in Ringwood. Two of their members, Steve and Wayne, attended our offices to meet with Gaylene, our CEO, to hear more about EPC services and what equipment we can provide to our clients to help keep them at home and avoid going into hospital or a hospice.
